The Minster of External Affairs (MEA) opened a passport
service office at Sham Square. The office
will handle the four financial districts of Amravati namely Akola, Amravati, Yevatmal,
Washim. The office was inaugurated by local MP Anand Adsul. The opening of the office
took 2 years of rigorous follow-ups by the office of Mr. Anand as told by him
in his speech at the occasion.

The first beneficiary to get Passport from this office was Duria
Yusuf Baramatiwala, 14-old-kid. The office shall handle at least 25 interviews
in a day, said officials. The center was set up as a part of ongoing initiative
of MEA to expand the network of passport offices by 2019 to 331 from 70 across
India and 38 in Maharashtra. Also present at the occasion were Dr. SunilDeshmkh, Guardian Minister Praveen Pote.
