Difference in Water level in Maharastra in the month of January

On the basis of the findings of the Maharashtra`s Water Resource Department a bar chart has been shared here. The Chart informs us on the percentage of Water level in Reservoirs, Storage and Flood of 19th January 2019 against the level in 19th January 2018.

As per the data the city of Amravati saw an increase in water level almost 9 percent. The worst hit city is Aurngabad which has gone down by almost 45 percent. The data is an interpretation of real time water level. Nagpur city has more or less not have a drastic effect on the water level going down by only 5 percent.

Students and staff of IIMC taking the Swachhata Pledge Swachhata Hi Seva, taking the ideology behind the Swachhata Pakhwada mission in mind IIMC students embarked on a cleanliness drives this January. The mission behind the drive was to clean the University of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati and make an analysis of the garbage collected. Gullargaht Rehab: A move in the opposite direction!

Gullarghat, a location once said to house more than 150 families, has now become a land ruled by tigers of Melghat . Gopi Nanda, the only tribal still staying in the location, said, “We were shown many locations to rehabilitate at. After a lot of deliberations our elders of the village decided to move from this location.” He said that out of the 150n families in the village about 30 were not interested in moving but due to the majority wanting to move out they were left with no other option. Another issue, pointed out by Nanda, was that the amount that was settled by the government for the rehabilitated villagers was never given completely to them. He said that due to the huge amount of Rs. 10lakh which many villagers thought would be enough to help them sustain the villagers accepted the program and moved out of Gullarghat.
