AI and IoT: Programs that are changing the face of Tech globally

AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet-of-Things) are no more something that you’d only encounter in science fiction. It has moved on from there and has gone beyond being the tool of giant organisations with deep pockets. In fact, it’s already here. In the stuff, we use every day, in our cars, in our gadgets, and even our phones. Moreover, AI and IoT are among the top three most lucrative technologies in the present age. It is estimated that there shall be 45% growth in jobs all because of them, AI and IoT have not only become career paths but have also become the stand out point in your resume.

The Impacts of AI and how it has taken over our lives
Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri are some of the most common and visible examples of AI in our smartphones but the trail does not end there. Arbo, Panasonics very own AI program that observes how we use our smartphone, makes up patterns on how we work and later helps us in various tasks such as switching on the Wi-Fi and reminding about missed calls and messages. AI’s presence is just not visible to us on our smartphones it has invaded our daily lives in the form of Chatbots. They answer our queries on customer service platforms such as Zomato App, Swiggy App, Ola App etc. and they help us by answering our banking related questions, their presence can also be seen in the operations of automobiles manufacturing units and warehouse. In the tech world, it is now a major topic of discussion that soon AI shall become so efficient that a major part of the call centre industry shall not require a human touch at all.
IoT a program so big that we can’t even imagine
IoT, on the other side, is a more enormous and impactful marvel just because it involves connecting Billions of machines on a global scale. We can today control our car, our TVs, our home security systems, air purifiers and a lot more through smartphones. In the near future, IoT shall be able to perform even more complex and unimaginable tasks. Tech giants such as Amazon, Google, Philips have been allocating millions and millions of their resources and budget for R&D in IoT. Some recent examples of the strides that IoT has made in our lives are like Amazon Dash Button, the device gets connected to the home Wi-Fi network of the user and then tracks important household items like soft drinks, grocery material, medical and personal care, kids and any pet items and lets the user know if he or she lacks any of them. Another example worth mentioning is the Philips Hue Bulbs and Lighting System, a very famous IoT device which uses the personal wireless lighting system that allows the user to control the light, color and create the right ambience for every moment. It makes the users home a smart home to live with the most connected lights in the world.
It is not just consumer-based IoT that is taking over the world by a storm but also IoT is being influenced by large organisations across industries to connect various components of their internal IT networks.
So where does AI and IoT leave us
In today’s world AI has found its sweet spot in most of the technologies and has created new careers paths for people to adjust on top of these technologies. On the other hand, IoT has filled pretty much every job role remotely connected with IT, but one just needs to acquire some specific set of skills on top of the regular tech knowledge so that one can enjoy the IoT ride in the future. Some of the most highly paying and the most sought-after job these days are IoT Solutions Architect and IoT Security Developer, among others. For people who are driven by the need for experimentation and R&D, there are jobs such as IoT Research Analyst, IoT Development Lead etc.

Gopi Nanda, the only tribal still staying in the location, said, “We were shown many locations to rehabilitate at. After a lot of deliberations our elders of the village decided to move from this location.” He said that out of the 150n families in the village about 30 were not interested in moving but due to the majority wanting to move out they were left with no other option. Another issue, pointed out by Nanda, was that the amount that was settled by the government for the rehabilitated villagers was never given completely to them. Problems started to arise once the money was exhausted and they were left to fend for themselves. Nanda stated that there were a couple of reasons behind ...
